So here goes my first beauty post…
I love all the colors that come along with Fall, especially the dramatic lip colors. I rarely have the opportunity to put on a full face of makeup, so I decided with today’s perfect weather, I would try my first beauty post.
Here is what I used to achieve the above look:
- Eye Shadow: MAC Patina and Buckwheat
- Eyeliner: Sephora Starry Sky N7
- Bronzer: MAC Refined Gold + Sonia Kashuk Angled Brush
- Lipstick:Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Suede in Backstage
- Gloss: MAC Plush Glass in Ample Pink
I start by putting Buckwheat in the crease and Patina on my eye lid, then blend like crazy. This isn’t pictured, but I normally take pencil eyeliner and lightly run it across my lash line. I like to use that as a guide for when I apply the Starry Sky.
The product that made me decide to become a MAC girl was their bronzers. I have a couple that I really like, but the best is the Refined Gold. It has just the right amount of shimmer and when applied under your cheekbones, you transform into the missing Kardashian sister.
When I’m searching for a fun lip color I’m all about scanning the drugstore. I don’t need to spend a ton of money on something I’ll occasionally wear for one season. I initially bought this Revlon color because it looked like dark plum but on my lips its lighter then I was hoping. Guess it’s that drugstore lighting.
It is always fun to try something different in your makeup routine. In the words of Tyra Banks, “I love the confidence makeup gives me”, and yes my inner feminist is cringing, but it’s true! And if wearing lipstick makes me feel pretty, then meet me in the drugstore beauty department and let’s play!
